Understanding your Victoza dosage
The Victoza pen contains 18 mg of Victoza and can deliver 0.6 mg, 1.2 mg, or 1.8 mg dosages. Your doctor will advise you on how much Victoza to take. You begin Victoza at 0.6 mg once daily and gradually raise the dose over one week until you reach the full dose of 1.2 mg. If the 1.2 mg dose does not work for you, your doctor may suggest 1.8 mg.

Side Effects of Victoza
Victoza has a very favorable side effect profile and is generally well-tolerated in adults. Some of the common adverse effects go away within the first month of treatment.
The most common side effects of Victoza include nausea, diarrhea, constipation, vomiting, injection site reaction, low blood sugar (hypoglycemia), headache, tiredness (fatigue), dizziness, stomach pain, and change in enzyme (lipase) levels in your blood.
Taking GLP-1 medications may also put you at serious risk of hypoglycemia or acute kidney injury if you are taking another similar medication at the same time.
